Robinho and Pato send Milan top

Robinho gol milan

Goals from Brazilians Robinho (above) and Alexandre Pato helped Milan to a 3-1 win against Palermo in Serie A on Wednesday night. The result combined with Lazio's surprise defeat away to Cesena sent the Rossineri to the top of the table for the first time this season.

Pato opened the scoring after 19 minutes with a header. Armin Bacinovic equalised for Palermo early in the second half so that the result remained in the balance. Zlatan Ibrahimovic gave Milan the lead before Robinho sealed the win with a low shot after 83 minutes. Robinho having been introduced from the bench only three minutes earlier. Of Milan's other Brazilians, Thiago Silva played 90 minutes but Ronaldinho, recently recalled to the Brazil squad was an unused substitute.
